Project Optimism Mentorship Sessions (POMS) is designed to improve accessibility to positive role models for historically underserved youth. POMS aligns youth with mentors who are reflective of their demographics for either a semester or year long. Students will be placed in groups with their PO mentor (Ratio = 1:3 or 1:5) to foster peer engagement and collaboration. Participants will attend workshops that will focus on self-regulation, strengthening students’ leadership skills, academic progress, and civic engagement.
